Assam: Judicial custody of seven accused in Zubeen Garg’s death ends
Guwahati: The judicial custody of all seven individuals accused in connection with the death of Zubeen Garg will end on Sunday.
Among those in custody are Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma, who are currently being held in Assam's Baksa and Haflong jails.
The court proceedings are set to take place this evening via video conferencing, rather than bringing the accused before the court in person.
Previously, the court had placed Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddharth Sharma, Sandeepan Garg, and Zubeen’s two personal security officers, Nandeshwar Bora and Paresh Baishya, under a 14-day judicial remand.
They were joined by Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta in the same order. Following this, Mahanta, Sharma, Sandeepan Garg, and the security officers were transferred from Guwahati to Baksa Jail, while Goswami and Mahanta were moved to Haflong Jail.
