Assam: IPS officer transferred after ‘misconduct’ with woman at Guwahati airport
GUWAHATI: Following a complaint lodged by a female employee stationed at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport in Guwahati city of Assam, the additional director general (ADG) of central reserve police force (CRPF) for the Northeast zone has been transferred back to his parent cadre.
The CRPF ADG, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, Binod Kumar Singh, was transferred back to his parent cadre on April 02, after the woman accused him of attempting to hug her against her will.
Utpal Baruah, the chief airport officer at the LGBI airport in Guwahati city of Assam, filed a written complaint detailing the incident, stating that the officer persistently made inappropriate comments and gestures towards the female employee.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that Singh stared at her, commented on her appearance, and insisted on exchanging contact information for future assistance.

Following the complaint, an apology was issued by Singh during a WhatsApp call facilitated by the chief airport officer.
Subsequently, the woman withdrew her complaint.
