Assam: Headmaster suspected of killing lover's husband in Lakhimpur

Guwahati: A school headmaster has been accused of murdering the husband of a woman he had an alleged affair with in Lakhimpur, Assam.

A police source said that the victim, Raju Dhanowar, was found dead in a well under mysterious circumstances.

Following the recovery of the body, locals of the Dhala Basti area protested against the incident accusing Kanakeshwar Buragohain of murder.

The police said that the accused was a headmaster of a local government school.

It was reported that the headmaster had an affair with Dhanowar's wife.

Apart from the alleged affair, they also had some property-related clashes.

The victim's body was found in a suspicious location, leading to further allegations by the locals that it was dragged from the headmaster's property.

The police have begun an investigation into the incident.
