Assam: GRP seizes gold biscuits and foreign currency at New Bongaigaon railway station
Bongaigaon: The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized 11 gold biscuits and 81 foreign currency notes during a late-night raid on the Gomati Nagar Weekly Express at New Bongaigaon Railway Station in Assam on Tuesday (July 16).
Acting on a tip-off, GRP officials conducted the raid and successfully intercepted the smuggling of gold and currency notes on-board the train.
The operation led to the arrest of two individuals identified as Kundan Kumar Jaiswal and Channi, both residents of Uttar Pradesh.
The suspects were apprehended while allegedly in the process of transporting the contraband.

According to reports, the seizure of the gold and foreign currency was based on actionable intelligence.
The arrested individuals and seized items have been handed over to appropriate authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
