Assam: Five nabbed with marijuana from Bongaigaon railway station

Guwahati: At least five individuals were arrested by the Railway Police in Bongaigaon, Assam from the Humsafar Express with 29 kilograms of suspected marijuana.

A source informed that the five were arrested based on input about contraband being transported by train.

As the police received the input, they launched a search operation and found the suspected marijuana from the Humsafar Express number 12504.

The police immediately detained five suspects identified as Meghan Paswan, Ramen Debbarma, Iti Debbarma, Dharmendra Paswan and Mohammad Mustakim.

They were taken into custody for further investigation.

The police are currently investigating the source of the suspected items and the destination.
