Assam: E-rickshaw driver detained for kidnapping attempt in Guwahati

Guwahati: An e-rickshaw driver was arrested by the police in Guwahati, Assam for an alleged kidnap attempt on Wednesday.

As per reports, the accused has been identified as Dipu Rabha.

He allegedly tried to abduct a minor girl who had hired his rickshaw to attend a Bihu celebration in Chandmari.

As per reports, the minor had boarded the e-rickshaw from the Bamunimaidam area and the driver took her towards Geetanagar instead of her requested destination.

However, the minor sensing something wrong jumped off the rickshaw and informed the police.

The police within no time nabbed the suspect and took him in custody.

An investigation has been initiated.
