Residents fear the situation could lead to waterlogging and flooding during the monsoon.

According to locals, the drains have remained uncleared for several months.

They said the accumulation of silt and overgrown vegetation has blocked the drainage channels and affected movement in the area, particularly for pedestrians and daily commuters.

Residents said even moderate rainfall could result in waterlogging along the stretch, disrupting traffic and affecting nearby households and businesses.

They have appealed to the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation to carry out desilting and cleaning of the drains before the monsoon intensifies.
