Assam: Conservation scientist Dr Bibhab Talukdar awarded by IUCN SSC

Guwahati: Conservation scientist Dr Bibhab Talukdar from Assam has been conferred the Harry Messel Award at the 5th IUCN SSC Leaders' Meeting in Abu Dhabi.

The Species Survival Commission of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) conferred ‘The Harry Messel Award’ for Conservation Leadership to Dr Bibhab Kumar Talukdar.

The award was presented to him today at the 5th IUCN SSC Leaders’ Meeting being held in Abu Dhabi.

Dr Talukdar is the founder Secretary General and the CEO of premier biodiversity conservation organisation Aaranyak (www.aaranya.org)  which has its headquarters here.

The award has been presented for Dr Talukdar's contribution to species Conservation on the ground and through leadership, as part of the work of the Species Survival Commission.
