GUWAHATI: The Assam unit of the Congress party has expelled its senior leader Dadu Taye from party “with immediate effect”.
The Assam Congress issued a notice in regards to suspension of Dadu Taye from the party on Saturday (February 17).
“Hon’ble Assam PCC president, Shri Bhupen Kumar Borah, has expelled Shri Dadu Taye, Ex DCC President Golaghat, from the Indian National Congress party with immediate effect,” the suspension order read.
Dadu Taye was expelled from the Congress just a day after he was removed from the post of the party’s district president of Golaghat in Assam on Friday (February 16).
It may be mentioned here that Dadu Taye, recently, met and interacted with Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
