Assam businessman shot dead in Nagaland by suspected militants

SILCHAR: A businessman from Assam has been shot dead by suspected militants in neighbouring Nagaland.

According to reports, Abdul Kayum Talukdar, hailing from Karimganj district in Assam was shot dead by suspected militants in Dimapur district of Nagaland.

The incident took place late on Friday (June 07) night.

The incident took place at New Market area in Dimapur district of Nagaland, where the assailants allegedly shot the victim in the chest at point-blank range before fleeing the scene.

Talukdar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
