Assam: Businessman shot dead in Goalpara, robbery suspected
Guwahati: On Sunday evening, a businessman was allegedly shot dead in Goalpara, Assam.
The deceased was identified as Ashok Gowal, a resident of the Borobazar area in Goalpara.
The incident occurred on the under-construction Agia-Solmari four-lane road.

According to reports, Gowal was travelling home from Dhupdhora in his car with his son when a group of three unidentified individuals stopped their vehicle.
The assailants then shot Gowal and stole a significant amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
Police recovered Gowal's body and initiated an investigation.
Police following the incident questioned Gowal's son, who was present during the attack.
The motive for the crime remains undetermined.
