Assam: BJP worker injured, Congress offices vandalized during poll violence in Samaguri

Guwahati: Poll-related violence has continued at the Samaguri Assembly Constituency in Nagaon, Assam as a BJP worker was severely injured while three Congress party offices were vandalized on Saturday night.

Akbar Ali, the BJP worker, was allegedly ambushed while riding home from Kesakhaiti market.

He was rescued by some locals and was taken to a local hospital, however, he was referred to the Nagaon Civil Hospital for further advanced treatment.

In another incident, a mob allegedly targeted Congress offices in Laokhowa Shanti Bazar, 4 No Bogamukh, and 6 No Bogamukh, causing extensive damage.

Police said that they are investigating both incidents and are expected to make arrests soon.
