Assam: BDO arrested for bribery in Bongaigaon

Guwahati: Sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption have arrested a Block Development Officer (BDO) in Bongaigaon, Assam for alleged bribery.

Khurseeda Khanam, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Srijangram Development Block was arrested for soliciting and accepting bribes through her Assistant BDO.

The arrest follows a thorough investigation into allegations of corruption within Khanam's office.

A search of her Dibrugarh residence led to the seizure of Rs 14 lakh in cash.

The source of this substantial sum is currently under investigation.

Further investigation regarding her involvement in bribery is being carried out.
