Dibrugarh: The Assam Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) organised a press meet on Friday to formally launch its upcoming initiative titled ‘Jati Bosauk Mati Bosauk Yatra’, a programme aimed at highlighting key concerns related to land rights, identity, and the future of the people of Assam.

Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan in Dibrugarh, APYC president Zubair Anam said the ‘Jati Bosauk Mati Bosauk Yatra’ is a significant political and social outreach initiative intended to raise awareness on issues affecting indigenous identity, land ownership, and the long-term prospects of the people of Assam.

"Through the Yatra, the organisation aims to engage with citizens across the state and amplify public concerns," he said.

With the objective of mobilising youth power and strengthening public participation, the APYC has launched this extensive state-wide initiative to address pressing social, economic, and political issues affecting the people of Assam.

The initiative was formally outlined at a meeting attended by senior leaders of the organisation, members, and representatives of the media.

Leaders used the platform to express their aspirations, share the roadmap of activities, and underline the importance of collective effort in shaping a progressive and inclusive Assam.

The primary focus of the programme is to awaken and channel the energy of Assam’s youth towards constructive social engagement.

Through the Youth Congress platform, the organisation aims to develop future leadership, raise public awareness, and gather people’s opinions on key issues.

Among the major concerns highlighted are unemployment, recurring market shutdowns, flood-related devastation, and what the organisation terms as governance failures of the BJP.

Leaders also raised economic issues, including unfulfilled commitments, the demand for special status, and inadequate funding for flood relief.

On the social front, the initiative stresses the need for an environmentally sustainable and socially harmonious atmosphere.

The plan initiated by APYC includes regular interactions with the media, mutual discussions with citizens, and daily outreach walks covering 10–20 kilometres to engage people on local issues.

A series of scheduled programmes will be held across different locations from January 3 to January 9 as part of the outreach initiative. The detailed itinerary is as follows: January 3 – Dhemaji, January 4 – Lakhimpur, January 5 – Majuli, January 6 – Jorhat, January 7 – Sivasagar, January 8 – Dibrugarh, and January 9 – Tinsukia.

A key feature of the initiative is the creation of grassroots leadership through community service groups, deliberately avoiding club- or hotel-centric programmes.

The campaign will focus on improving education standards, enhancing job skills, protecting the environment, and ensuring social stability.

As part of the distribution and planning framework, boys’ and girls’ meetings will be held twice a week in Lakhimpur to organise youth power.

Monthly public awareness campaigns are planned in Dibrugarh to address broader societal issues, while continuous community-based efforts will be undertaken in Sivasagar to resolve local problems.

The mission of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress is to actively engage the new generation of Assam in personal development and community upliftment.

Its objective is to contribute meaningfully to the political, social, and economic advancement of the state by taking an active role in solving existing problems.

In essence, the “Jati Bosauk Mati Bosauk Yatra” aims to strengthen the organisation, build public trust, and foster a deeper sense of seriousness and understanding among citizens.

The initiative aspires to enhance the quality of life, reinforce community bonds, and uphold the pride, culture, and prosperity of the Assamese people through sustained personal, social, and political transformation.

Senior Youth Congress leaders, including APYC President Zubair Anam and Indian Youth Congress General Secretary Mitendra Darshan Singh, were present on the occasion.
