Assam: Anindita Priyadarshini Das clinched gold in powerlifting at National Masters Games

Guwahati: Anindita Priyadarshini Das clinched the gold medal in powerlifting at the National Masters Games held in Pune from January 27. A successful doctor and accomplished athlete, Das continues to inspire many in the world of sports. This latest victory adds another golden chapter to her remarkable sporting career.

Das’s achievements in powerlifting are highly commendable. She had previously won gold at the 2019 National Masters Powerlifting Championships in Chennai and was crowned the Strong Woman of India. In the same year, she secured a gold medal at the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championships in Canada. In 2020, she won gold and retained the title of Strong Woman of India at the National Championships in Mumbai. She also claimed gold at the 2021 Asian Powerlifting Championships in Istanbul.

Das is also a highly qualified and experienced physician. She earned her MBBS degree from Guwahati Medical College in 1990 and completed her postgraduate studies there. She holds a fellowship in maternal and child health and is an accredited physician with the Menopause Society of India. She has also received specialized training in modern treatments, including aesthetic gynecology and anti-aging medicine, from leading institutions in India and Germany.

She has been the recipient of numerous prestigious awards for her contributions to sports and health. These include the Strong Woman of India, Woman of the Year Award, Global Super Achievement Award, Biju Fukan Recognition Award, Strong Woman of Assam, and the Asian Iconic Women Leader Award. As a mother, successful doctor, and international athlete, she exemplifies that determination and hard work can lead to success at any age.
