Assam: AASU leader dies in road accident in Lakhimpur

NORTH LAKHIMPUR: A leader of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) from Lakhimpur district of the state tragically lost his life in a road accident on Thursday (March 21) night.

The deceased AASU leader has been identified as Swaraj Sankar Gogoi.

Swaraj Sankar Gogoi is the secretary of the Lakhimpur district unit of the All Assam Students Union (AASU).

The incident occurred along the national highway (NH)-15 at Kona Nadi area, under Bogeenadi police station in Lakhimpur district of Assam.

The accident took place when the car he was driving, a Swift bearing registration number AS-07-T-1986, lost control.

The vehicle collided with a tree before plunging into a deep gorge.

Gogoi's untimely demise has sparked widespread mourning throughout the district.
