GUWAHATI: Jitul Deka, the vice-president of the Assam unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has submitted his resignation to the party's high command.

Assam AAP vice president Jitul Deka stepped down from his role and primary membership.

The reason for quitting the party remains undisclosed.

This move comes as the Assam unit of the AAP withdrew its candidate from the Guwahati Lok Sabha seat in Assam.

Instead, the Assam AAP has decided to focus on contesting from Dibrugarh and Sonitpur constituencies in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
