Assam: 57-year-old trampled to death by elephant in Boko

Guwahati: A 57-year-old man was killed after being trampled by a wild elephant at Boko in Kamrup around 50 kilometres from Guwahati, Assam.
As per reports, the incident took place in the Gohalkona area of Boko on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Hamsing K Marak.
A herd of five elephants had wandered out from the forest in search of food.
However, in their search for food, they came across Marak who was gardening at the time.
Marak allegedly tried to move away from the elephants but something provoked the elephants to attack.
Marak lost his life in the confrontation.
Following the incident, the forest department was informed and they are tying to send the herd back to the forest area to prevent any further loss of life.
