Guwahati: A 16-year-old student from Moirajhar at Salbari in Assam’s Baksa district, died by suicide on Saturday after failing the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination.

Reports indicate she consumed pesticides.

The results of HSLC exam was announced on Saturday by SEBA, and the girl could not clear the exam.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, the girl succumbed to the poisoning. The news plunged the region into mourning, with deep sadness felt not only by her family but also by the entire community.

This tragedy highlights the significant pressure and challenges students grapple with during exams.
