Baksa: A 28-year-old Indian Army jawan lost his life in a tragic road accident in Assam’s Baksa district on Sunday.

Gopi Sutradhar, a resident of Sarugatti village under Shalbari police station, was found lying near his motorcycle, a Bullet (AS 12 AA 8498), on the Bhawanipur-Manah link road on Sunday morning.

He had recently returned home on leave and was married with a young girl.

The incident came to light when locals discovered his body early in the morning. The Bansbari police were immediately informed and have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.

The untimely demise of the soldier has cast a pall of gloom over the entire village. Locals mourned the loss of a braveheart who dedicated his life to serving the nation.

The Army has also expressed its condolences to the bereaved family and is extending necessary support during this difficult time.
