Assam: Yaba tablets worth Rs 8 crore seized in Karimganj
Guwahati: Two men from Tripura were arrested in Karimganj, Assam for allegedly being involved in an interstate drug trafficking racket.
Police sources informed that based on inputs, the suspects were arrested with a consignment of Yaba tablets worth Rs 8 crore.
At least 80 thousand contraband Yaba tablets were seized from the accused.

The police based on specific inputs intercepted a vehicle (an LPT truck) near the Churaibari checkpoint at the Assam-Tripura interstate border.
On checking the vehicle, the police recovered a huge haul of suspected drugs.
After checking the drugs that were packed in eight packets, it was found that the drugs were Yaba tablets.

The estimated value of the suspected tablets is said to be Rs 8 crore in the international market.
The police immediately apprehended the occupants of the vehicle, identified as Tinku Malakar and Sujit Deb. Both were residents of Tripura.
After further investigation by the police, the two suspects were arrested for further proceedings.
