Assam: Woman dies after being poisoned by husband in Boko

Guwahati: A woman from Boko in Kamrup died at the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati, Assam on Monday after allegedly being poisoned by her husband.

According to reports, the woman was a resident of the Jogipara in Boko, Kamrup.

The accused, Mahadev Das had allegedly poisoned her about four days ago and then fled.

Other family members following the incident brought her for medical attention and she was eventually admitted to the GMCH.

Although she was under constant medical attention for the past three days, on Monday she passed away.

Das is currently reported to be on the run.

Family members have alleged that the incident was a result of a possible domestic dispute between the couple.

An investigation is being carried out.
