Assam: Two teens found dead in Tinsukia Pond

Guwahati: Two teenagers from Khatangpani tea estate in Tinsukia district, Assam, were found dead in a pond in Brahmajan village on Tuesday.

The boys, both believed to be around 16 years old, had left their homes for an outing on May 4 and had been missing since.

Some villagers later on Tuesday, found their bodies floating in the pond and alerted the police.

Police, with the help of locals, retrieved the bodies and initiated an investigation.

The cause of death remains unknown but it has been suspected that they may have drowned while attempting to swim in the pond.

The bodies have been transported to Tinsukia for postmortem examination.
