Assam: Toddler sustains 70 per cent burns after falling into cooking vessel

Guwahati: A toddler in Barpeta, Assam sustained severe injuries after she fell "accidentally" into a cooking vessel containing hot lentils.

It was not known how she fell into the vessel but reports suspect that she may have tried to see what was in the vessel while playing.

The incident took place near the Barpeta Road while the mother was cooking.

As per reports, the one-and-a-half-year-old baby sustained nearly 70 per cent burns and is in a critical condition now.

Her father, Dulal Saha informed the media that the minor had been admitted to the Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati.

The parents of the child have also approached Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to assist them with the medical expenses.
