Assam: The Assam police arrested three more Bangladeshi nationals, including two women, from the state’s Karimganj district, and later pushed them back to their country.

A team of the Karimganj police arrested the infiltrators while they were trying to enter Assam from neighbouring Tripura in the wee hours of Thursday (September 12, 2024).

After questioning and completing the legal formalities, the trio - Sumon Hussain, Suhana Khatun and Eva Akhtar – was handed over to the authorities in Bangladesh.

The Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified its vigil along the international borders with Bangladesh in the wake of the over month-long crisis in the neighbouring country.
