Assam: Three involved in motorcycle thefts arrested in Golaghat
Guwahati: A gang of alleged motorcycle lifters were arrested by the Assam Police from various locations in Golaghat and Jorhat.
Police sources informed that they arrested three accused in cases related to motorcycle thefts across the region.
The arrests took place on Wednesday in Bekajan and Merapani areas of Golaghat district.
The apprehended individuals are identified as Bolin Gogoi (27) from Chenijan village, Gopal Kachari (28) from Upar Torani village, and Jiten Das (32) from Panchawati Gaon.
All three belong to the Golaghat district, the police said.
Police officials seized a Hero Splendour motorcycle believed to have been used in the thefts. Additionally, a .22 calibre Chinese-made pistol with two live rounds of ammunition was recovered from Gopal Kachari's possession.
Another red Super Splendour motorcycle, lacking a license plate, was also confiscated.
The Jorhat police previously recovered three stolen Royal Enfield Bullets from Nagaland's Wokha district.
