Assam: RSS-backed Muslim org calls for shutdown of illegal beef shops in Guwahati

Guwahati: The Assam unit of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-backed organisation, has called for shutdown of illegal beef shops in Guwahati.

Alkas Hussain, the convenor of Assam unit of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), has issued a call for the voluntary closure of illegal beef shops in Guwahati.

Hussain has identified specific areas in Guwahati city of Assam, including Hatigaon, Panjabari, Satgaon and Islampur, as locations where these illegal operations are prevalent.

Hussain has also appealed to the Kamrup-Metro district administration in Assam to take decisive action to address this issue.

He claimed that these 'illegal' establishments are not only flouting the law but also posing a threat to the harmonious relationship between Hindus and Muslims in the Assam.

Hussain has also urged an end to the cattle trade in the area.

He said that halting this trade will help maintain harmony between the two communities and prevent potential conflicts.

"The illegal beef shops and cattle trade are creating tension and disrupting the peaceful coexistence between Hindus and Muslims. I urge everyone to respect each other's laws and traditions to sustain harmony in the region," Hussain stated.
