Acting on specific intelligence, the security forces launched an operation to intercept a suspected individual on a motorcycle.

When approached, the rider abandoned the bike and fled across the river. A subsequent search of the abandoned vehicle led to the discovery of the explosives.

This seizure comes amidst ongoing efforts to curb the flow of illicit arms and explosives along the India-Myanmar border.

In recent weeks, security forces in Manipur have also made significant recoveries, including various types of firearms, ammunition, and explosives.

In separate operations in Manipur, the Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other security forces recovered a range of weapons and materials, such as machine guns, rifles, pistols, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and ammunition.

These recoveries were made in different districts, including Bishnupur and Imphal West.
