Guwahati: The Assam Police in its effort to curb the menace of drugs in the state, were able to apprehend three accused traffickers and seized 572 kg of Heroin which is worth Rs 3 crore in the black market.

The Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has congratulated the efforts of the state police and took to his social media handle in X and wrote, “Based on credible intelligence, @cacharpolice conducted an operation at ISBT Silchar and recovered 572gms of heroin, costing approximately Rs. 3 crores. The narcotics were being transported from a neighbouring state. Three accused have been apprehended in this connection.”

According to reports the drugs were being carried to Silchar from a neighbouring state and the Cachar police caught the alleged culprits from ISBT.

Further investigation on the case is going on.
