Assam: Police in Golaghat bust major drug ring seizing heroin worth Rs 50 lakh
Guwahati: The police in Golaghat, Assam apprehended two individuals and seized over 263 grams of heroin, estimated to have a street value of Rs 50 lakh.
The operation targeted a major drug trafficking ring operating in the region.
Led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jon Das, the crime branch team acted on a tip-off regarding two suspected drug peddlers.

Around 11 pm, they intercepted a Swift Dzire car near the Rongamati tollgate in Dergaon.
A thorough search of the vehicle revealed 22 packets of heroin cleverly hidden within the car's music system's bass tubes.

One of the arrested individuals, Mohammad Ali alias Fusu, reportedly has prior involvement in drug trafficking, police said.
