Assam: One detained for assaulting policeman in Guwahati

Guwahati: At least one person has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a policeman in Guwahati, Assam on Saturday night. 

As per reports, the incident took place near Ganeshguri in Guwahati, Assam.

The policeman was assaulted by two men in Guwahati and the incident was captured on video.

One of the accused had claimed that the policeman had threatened them earlier.

After the video went viral, the police department took immediate action and detained one of the persons in the video.

The accused was identified as Champak Das.

The other person in the video is now said to be absconding.

He has been identified as Rahul Khataniar.

A police source said that an operation has been initiated to nab the second suspect in the case.
