Assam: Oil field explosion in Duliajan claims one life, injures five

Guwahati: A reported explosion in an oil field operated by Oil India Limited (OIL) at Duliajan in Dibrugarh, Assam, on Wednesday, resulted in the death of one employee and injuring five others.

Reports indicate that the explosion occurred during routine operations at the oil field.

While the exact cause remains under investigation, initial reports suggest a technical malfunction may be to blame.

The deceased individual has been identified as Robin Orang.

The five injured workers, whose names haven't been released, have been transferred to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) for medical attention.

"OIL authorities have launched a detailed probe into the incident," a report said.
