Guwahati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Arunachal Pradesh, warning of extremely heavy rainfall across the state today, June 30.

Meanwhile, Assam, Mizoram, Tripura, and Manipur are also forecast to receive heavy rainfall, with the IMD issuing warnings for these states as well.

Assam, Mizoram, Tripura and Manipur in Northeast India are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall on Sunday, said IMD.

Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, parts of Rajasthan, West Bengal, Goa, and parts of Maharashtra are also expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall today.

The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into parts of Uttar Pradesh, bringing much-needed rain to the region.

However, the IMD warns that maximum temperatures across most of the country are unlikely to change significantly.
