Two Assam journalists, Mahesh Deka of Northeast Now and Bhabesh Medhi of Dainik Asom have been selected for REACH Media Fellowships for Reporting on TB, 2019.

The prestigious national level scholarship has been awarded to the two journalists from the State for the year 2019-20.

Notably, only 12 journalists from the applications received from across the country have been selected for the fellowship.

Deka and Medhi will attend a workshop on the fellowship project in the national capital on July 10 and 11 next.

Deka will conduct his media research on the topic ‘Economic and Social Costs of TB’.

He will carry out the study in the tea garden in Dibrugarh district of eastern Assam.

Notably, Chennai based REACH has been a key organization in the fight against TB.
