Guwahati: The three-day multimedia exhibition, celebrating India’s first ‘National Space Day,’ concluded in Assam’s Guwahati on Sunday (August 25).

The exhibition had more than 3,500 visitors coming from all walks of life, and were seen experiencing the country’s achievements in the field of space through augmented reality, virtual reality, touchwall, holographic projections and much more.

The third day saw students enthusiastically participating in the art and quiz competitions held on the theme of India’s space mission. The art projected their perspective on space and the nation’s achievements. Prizes were distributed among the winners of the competitions at the venue.

Commending the multimedia exhibition, Trishna Sarania from Gauhati University’s Department of Mass Communication said, “It was a wonderful experience. Special thanks to the organisers for this extraordinary event.”

“It was such a nice feeling to have a chance to explore the ‘space’ of space,” said another visitor.

Assam minister of Science, Technology and Climate Change Keshab Mahanta inaugurated the event on Friday (August 23).

Former Director of the North Eastern Space Application Centre (a unit of ISRO) Kumud Chandra Bhattacharya, Mission Director of Assam Samagra Shiksha Om Prakash, and Director of the National Science Centre Vijay Sanker Sharma were among the dignitaries present during the event.
