‘Assam MP Naba Kumar Sarania ineligible to contest Lok Sabha polls’

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati high court has delivered a significant verdict regarding the eligibility of MP from Kokrajhar constituency in Assam – Naba Kumar Sarania - to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

The Gauhati high court has .stated that Naba Kumar Sarania is not eligible to contest in the Lok Sabha elections.

This ruling emerged from a dispute revolving around Sarania's ethnic certificate, which has been a focal point of recent legal proceedings.

The Gauhati high court determined that Naba Kumar Sarania does not belong to the scheduled tribe (ST) category, thereby questioning the validity of his ethnic certificate.
