Under these agreements, both Oil India and NRL will provide financial assistance of Rs 2.5 crore each as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The funds will be utilized for the procurement of hemodialysis machines to treat patients with advanced kidney failure, according to a release from the Assam chief minister’s office (CMO).

The new hemodialysis machines will be installed in various dialysis centres across Assam, aiding patients suffering from nephrological ailments.

The initiative aims to increase the availability of dialysis machines and reduce the out-of-pocket expenditure for patients undergoing treatment.

The Assam health department, through the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program, currently provides free hemodialysis services at 41 dialysis centres equipped with 277 machines located in public health institutes such as medical colleges, district hospitals and community health centres.
