Guwahati: The iconic Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam will reopen its gates to visitors on October 1 after the monsoon season.

Due to the recent floods, the park will initially only allow tourists to explore three ranges – Kohora, Bagori, and Burapahar. Jeep safaris will be conducted in two shifts: 7:30 AM to 10 AM and 1:30 PM to 3 PM.

The park's director, Sonali Ghosh, said visitor safety and experience will be prioritized during the upcoming tourist season.

Kaziranga, renowned for its one-horned rhinoceros and diverse wildlife, is a popular destination for families and nature enthusiasts.

The park was closed in May to prepare for the monsoon, and unfortunately, nearly 200 animals lost their lives due to the severe flooding.
