Assam: Kamrup metro schools to revert to regular timing from Oct 1

Guwahati: With the mercury levels dipping, schools in Kamrup Metropolitan district of Assam will revert to their regular timing from Tuesday (October 1).

The Kamrup metropolitan district elementary education officer cum district mission coordinator of Axom Sarba Siksha Abhijan Mission in an order said that all schools under the district will follow their regular timing from October 1.

“In supersession of the order issued by the undersigned in regard to functioning of school timing within 7.30 am to 12.30 pm in Kamrup Metro district, it is hereby instructed that all government, provincialised and private schools under Kamrup Metro district shall follow their regular normal school timing with effect from October 1, 2024.”

The earlier order was issued on September 20, 2024 in view of the heat wave conditions prevailing in Assam including, Kamrup metropolitan district which primarily covers the greater Guwahati areas.

However, the region has been experiencing rainfall over the past one week which has resulted in the soaring day temperatures decline.
