Guwahati: In a latest development, choreographer Sumi Borah, who was declared most wanted by the Assam Police has announced her intention to surrender today.

In a video shared on Tuesday, Sumi Borah claimed that she had done nothing wrong and alleged that she had been made a victim by the media. She expressed confidence that she will receive justice if she is proven right.

Borah, along with her husband Tarkik Borah, was declared most wanted by the police in connection with an ongoing scam investigation. Meanwhile, her brother-in-law, Amlan Borah, was taken into custody by police in Bihar on directives from Assam DGP GP Singh.

It may be mentioned that choreographer Sumi Borah and her husband, Tarkik Borah are accused in a scam involving crores of unaudited monetary transactions.

The prime accused in the scam, Vishal Phukan was already arrested by the police while Sumi along with her husband are on the run and have been declared as most wanted by the police.

Along with the apprehension of Tarkik’s brother, the police have seized a Toyota Fortuner, registered under Tarkik Borah’s name, in Meghalaya.

The search for Sumi Borah and Tarkik Borah continues, as they remain absconding.

Earlier on Tuesday, two youths were detained by the police in Golaghat, Assam for “sheltering” Sumi Borah and her husband Tarkik Borah.

A report also claimed that the couple may be in Nepal and were planning to head to Dubai via Pokhara.

On Wednesday evening, a video was shared widely where Sumi Borah stated that she and her husband were willing to surrender.

However, she did not share any other details or where she was located currently.
