Assam: Inmate dies mysteriously in Dibrugarh jail, family gets body in a wheelchair

Dibrugarh: A horrifying incident has occurred at Dibrugarh Central Jail, highlighting a gross violation of human rights.

The family of a deceased inmate was allegedly handed over his body while seated in a wheelchair.

According to preliminary reports, Shailja Borgohain, resident of 2 No. Gandhia Puroni Gaon in Lengeri, Tingkhong, mysteriously died inside the Dibrugarh Central Jail.

It has come to light that after his death, the jail authorities placed his body in a wheelchair and handed it over to his family, an act that is seen as a grave insult to humanity.

Borgohain had been brought to Dibrugarh Central Jail three days ago.

On Thursday, he was granted bail, and his family came to take him home.

 Instead, they were allegedly handed over his deceased body, posed as if he was merely ill.

This has led to a heated situation in front of the jail, with the family refusing to accept the body.
