Assam: Houses of close aides of INDIA’s Dibrugarh candidate Lurin Jyoti Gogoi set on fire

DIBRUGARH: On the eve of polling for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Assam, a distressing news surfaced from Dibrugarh constituency.

Reports have surfaced that the residences of close aides to the INDIA bloc candidate from Dibrugarh and Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) president, Lurinjyoti Gogoi, were allegedly set on fire by unknown assailants mere hours before the polling was set to commence.

At least four supporters of Lurinjyoti Gogoi becoming victims of an arson attack.

Timing of these attacks raises serious concerns about the integrity and safety of the electoral process.

Lurinjyoti Gogoi, a prominent figure in Assam politics, is locked in a heated contest against the former chief minister and current union minister, Sarbananda Sonowal in Dibrugarh constituency of Assam.

The rivalry between the two candidates has intensified in recent weeks, with both camps vying for supremacy in Dibrugarh constituency of Assam.

Meanwhile, the alleged perpetrators of the arson attack remain at large.
