Guwahati: Tension prevailed in parts of Tamulpur following an alleged incident of poll-related violence in Panbari village under the 43 Tamulpur Assembly constituency, where three workers of the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) were reportedly shot at and seriously injured late at night.

According to local sources, the incident occurred during a confrontation after a group allegedly linked to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Biswajit Daimary was distributing money from a vehicle in the village. Gunfire was reportedly opened during the altercation, leaving UPPL workers Dharanidhar Boro, Raju Boro and Dinesh Boro critically injured.

The injured were rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in Guwahati, where they are undergoing treatment.
