Assam: Cop on election duty found dead in Golaghat

Guwahati: A police official was found dead under mysterious conditions at a police station in Golaghat, Assam on Monday.

As per reports, the cop was found floating in a pond.

He was identified as Rana Veer Chauren, a resident of Kokrajhar in Assam.

Chauren was posted in Golaghat but was said to be missing for the past two days.

The deceased was a constable from Kokrajhar but was in Golaghat for election duty.

It was not known how the constable died.

His body was recovered and sent to the SKK Civil Hospital for post-mortem and further legal proceedings.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the death of the policeman.
