Digboi: Two class 4 students at a school in Digboi of Tinsukia, Assam were injured on Wednesday afternoon when a classroom ceiling fan fell on them.

According to reports, one student sustained injuries near the shoulder and ear, while the other received minor injuries and is being monitored for the next 24 hours.

Parents and guardians were outraged, alleging that they had previously informed the school about the faulty fan.

They claim the school administration ignored their complaints, despite security personnel even visiting the classroom earlier that day.

Sister Salomi Lakra, the school principal of Apostolic Carmel, Digboi said that she had no idea about the faulty issues.

She stated that the classroom ceiling had undergone recent repairs. However, guardians were not convinced and believed the incident reflects negligence on the part of the school.

One guardian pointed out that the prompt action of the teacher in changing the seating arrangement likely prevented a more serious accident.
