Assam: Class 10 student killed after being run over by pickup truck in Dima Hasao

Guwahati: A class 10 student was killed in Dima Hasao, Assam after being run over by a speeding (allegedly) pickup truck on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident took place in the afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Sanjay Sarma.

He was a student at Don Bosco School in Govind Nagar.

He was hit by the vehicle while returning home on his scooter.

The pickup truck collided with him near Umrangso.

The impact resulted in Sanjay's death at the scene before any medical help could arrive.

The driver of the vehicle was apprehended by the locals and was handed over to the police.

It is not yet known how the accident exactly happened or even if the deceased had a valid driving licence but the police are investigating the matter.
