Applications are invited for recruitment of various research based positions or jobs in National Law University Meghalaya.

National Law University Meghalaya is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or jobs of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a project entitled "LIDSS: Legal Intelligence and Decision Support System."

Fellowship: A fellowship amount of Rs. 42,550.00 per month (Including 15% HRA) will be
provided till the project ends.

Subject to the satisfactory performance of the candidate, a fellowship as per University norms at the time of conversion may be provided for a total of five years, including the project's duration.

Eligibility Criteria :

  1. LLM or LLB or equivalent or higher degrees with relevant technical background (Preferable CS/Data Science/ or equivalent).
  2. MSc (CS/ IT/ equivalent) or MCA or BTech (CSE/ IT/ ECE/ DS/ equivalent) or MTech (CSE/ IT/ ECE/ DS/ equivalent) or equivalent or higher degrees

Job Roles :

  1. Gather existing legal documents from the Appex Courts and relevant laws. Annotate and organize the data, perform data cleaning and validation processes. Collaborate with domain experts to annotate and summarize the documents, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  2. The Project Manpower (JRFs) need to visit the High Courts regularly to collect existing legal documents.
  3. Develop and train machine learning models using datasets for case outcome prediction and AI algorithms for Legal Document Summarization. Implement algorithms and finetune models for accuracy and reliability.
  4. Design and develop a user-friendly interface for case outcome prediction and legal document summarization.
  5. Needs to be associated with Software (LIDSS) Prototype Development, Testing, and Deployment.
