Applications are invited for recruitment of various technical positions or jobs in MBDA Meghalaya in 2026.

Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) Meghalaya is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or jobs of Senior Data Scientist and Research Associate in 2026.

Name of post : Senior Data Scientist

No. of posts : 2

Essential Qualification: Graduate or Post Graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Statistics and other related fields.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in IT/MIS and data analytics roles in supervisory capacity.

2. Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript, including data pipelines, automation, and API integration

3. Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.)

4. Sound knowledge of statistics and data analysis (EDA, regression, visualisation)

5. Experience in developing Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems aligned with government/ donor reporting

6. Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data integration, data lakes, and data warehouses

7. Working experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)

8. Ability to manage and analyse large and complex datasets

9. Familiarity with GIS data and basic understanding of LGD codes and administrative structures

Pay : Commensurate with qualifications and experience

No. of posts : 1

Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Climate Change/Science, Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or allied disciplines from a recognized institution.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, or research institutions will be an advantage.

2. 1–3 years of relevant research experience in climate change, environmental research, public policy, or development sector projects.

3. Exposure to policy analysis, programme implementation, or governance-related work is
desirable.

4. Basic understanding of climate frameworks such as SAPCC and NAPCC.
