Indian Institute of Geomagnetism is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in 2026.

Eligibility Criteria :

M.Sc./M.Sc.(Tech.) in the disciplines of Physics/Geophysics/Space Physics/Atmospheric Science/ Applied Geology/Applied Mathematics/Applied Geophysics/Marine Geophysics and allied subjects with a minimum of 60% or also equivalent CGPA marks in M.Sc. / M.Sc.(Tech) and Physics or Mathematics as a subject in B.Sc.

Maximum Age: 27 years as on 1 July, 2026

Selection Procedure :

Candidates who are in possession of a valid GATE/NET/INSPIRE(JRF) certificate(s) in above mentioned subjects may be called for the interview directly. Candidates who have not qualified any of the above tests will have to appear for an entrance exam conducted by IIG followed by the interview at IIG, Navi Mumbai. Minimum qualifying marks for the entrance exam will be 50%. On production of valid certificate issued by the competent authority a relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade is possible to those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ PwBD/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS) as per the notification issued by UGC from time to time. Reservation policy of Government of India is applicable.
