Gauhati University Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post or career of Research Assistant for ICSSR Minor Research Project on "Participation and Representation of Women in Local Governance: A Study of Urban Local Bodies in Kamrup (Metro), Cachar, Nagaon and Dibrugarh Districts of Assam." Gauhati University is altogether one of the premier institutions of higher education in Northeast India and one of the most sought-after postgraduate institutions. Being the oldest and the largest university in the entire Northeast, the university represents the academic and cultural background of the region, on which the other academic institutions of Northeast India started their journey. Being the pioneer educational institute also, it also extends its hand holding support to all subsequent academic institutions in this region.

Essential qualifications: PG (with 55% marks) in Social Science/Humanities and MPhil/PhD.
Desirable Qualification:
- Should possess excellent written and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer handing and MS Word. Excel. Power Point. Knowledge of statistical tools.
- Experience in data collection, data analyses, data handling and report writing.
Salary : As per ICSSR norms, Rs.37,000/- p.m.
